Neil Thacker
Neil was born in Rushden, England and has lived in Canada since 1972. After graduating high school, he started working for a gallery and frame shop in Penticton, and had a successful two-man show of his wildlife watercolours with a fellow wildlife artist. He has stayed in the framing industry, and is now the Master Framer and Frame Shop Manager at Picture Perfect in Kelowna, BC.
Primarily a self-taught artist and photographer, Neil specializes in nature and landscape images of the Okanagan, as well as painting pet portraits and graphics. His paintings are in private collections throughout Western Canada.
Incorporating his artistic approach with his photography, Neil’s photos have a more painterly feel to them, and many people have commented that they thought that they were, in fact, paintings. His images are available as prints on paper or canvas, and cover a wide range of subject matter.
